Year 10 Christian Studies Major Work
Big Questions Assessment

This year in Year 10 Christian Studies we are focusing on some of the big questions that people commonly ask about Christianity. You will submit a group project (presented in class during term). Your group (3 members) will create a website. The group question (see over page) will be chosen by negotiation and will be allocated during the first library class.

You will get 2 lessons to work in the library and then submit the structure, the initial answers and role allocation (in the case of the group assignments) to your classroom teacher for approval and advice. This would be checked and commented upon for the next class.

Outcomes Tested:

* Examines the meaning of biblical texts, passages and references.
* Identifies common misconceptions about God and compares them to the Biblical message.
* Evaluates scientific, historical and personal evidence for the life of Jesus Christ and the truth claims of the Bible
* Demonstrates ability to state own position clearly and evaluates the intellectual integrity of that position.

Website structure

The website will include 4 pages:

(i) Home – an introduction to the question with explanation and links to the other pages
(ii) What do people say about this issue – what are the alternative explanations?
(iii) What does the Bible say?
(iv) Weighing the Evidence – what can our group say about this issue in conclusion.

Save this in H Drive/Student Save/Christian Studies/Year 10/Set __
